About Silver Lake Preschool
We have a passion for excellence and innovation in preschool education. At The Church in Silver Lake Preschool, we have over 100 years collective experience in establishing learning environments tailored to the individual needs, talents, abilities and interests of each child. We hold a fundamental belief about the importance of education and its ability to nurture the development of intelligence through a unique curriculum encompassing music, the arts, science, technology, literacy, numeracy and physical exploration.
Our children have held exhibitions of their own art and have been successful in entering appropriate primary schools in the continuance of their life-long learning journeys. Most importantly, our children develop self-confidence and an understanding of their needs, who they are and how to become compassionate and responsible members of social groups. Our staff are knowledgeable, dedicated and enthusiastic, and provide a warm, loving environment for your child.
Mrs Diane McBride
Director
Diane is our director, bringing 16 years of experience as a lead teacher at the preschool as well as a Bachelor Degree from Kent State University in Child Development. She’s the proud mom of two wonderful daughters and a devoted dog parent to Blu. Outside of work, she loves gardening, tending to her plants, and taking long walks with Blu. Deeply committed to our school community, Diane works tirelessly to create a safe, joyful environment for children and a supportive, collaborative space for teachers. When she’s not at the preschool, you’ll find her spending quality time with her family and friends.
Mrs Lisa Spoerndle
5 Year Old Lead Teacher / Assistant Director
Lisa graduated from Eastern University with a degree in Elementary Education, a minor in Early Childhood Education, and a Master’s degree in Multicultural Education. She brings several years of experience in the field of education, both in the classroom as a teacher and in educational office management. Lisa has been happily married to her wonderful husband for six years, and together they reside in Tallmadge. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, spending time with family and friends through board games, and relaxing with jigsaw puzzles.
Mrs Meredith Davidson
Four Year Old Aid
Meredith has been a valued teacher at our preschool for 6 years as well as a previous parent. She graduated from The University of Toledo with a Social Work degree. She has been happily married for 21 years and has three wonderful children. Meredith is known as our “craft queen” because she loves making creative projects for our 4’s classroom as well as doing crafts at home. When she’s not crafting, she enjoys playing tennis and making memories with her family.
Mrs Stephanie Morgan
Five Year Old Aid
Stephanie has a liberal arts degree in Spanish and Education. She has been married for 43 years, has 3 children (my son attended SLP) and 4 grandchildren (2 also attended SLP).
This is her 30th and last year! Stephanie loves teaching and reading books, creating crafts, and doing science experiments in the classroom. She has loved and nurtured every child that has walked through the preschool doors! She will miss the families that have gone through our program as this has been my second home. It is time for some traveling, new adventures and spending more time with my grandchildren!
Mrs Hallie Kosovich
Four Year Old Lead / 3 Year Old Aid
Hallie has dedicated the past ten years to the field of childcare and early education and truly can’t imagine doing anything else. She earned her Bachelor Degree in English from Kent State University and is passionate about helping children learn and grow. Hallie is our “park ranger” as she loves bugs and the outdoors. In her free time, Hallie enjoys hiking, visiting museums, and spending time with her wonderful family.
Mrs Cassie Jebber
Five Year Old Aid
Cassie is a graduate of Kent State University, and brings a warm, and supportive presence to the classroom each day. She enjoys assisting the lead teacher and loves engaging children in meaningful and fun learning experiences. In addition to her role at Silver Lake Preschool, Cassie has been actively involved with the Cuyahoga Falls City School District and Silver Lake School communities for over a decade. She resides in Cuyahoga Falls with her husband, their two children, and their sweet therapy dog, Bodhi.
Mrs Katie Keba
Four Year Old Aid
Katie resides in Stow and earned her Bachelor degree in Advertising and Marketing from Kent State University. She has been happily married for 11 years and she has three children who are all proud graduates of The Church in Silver Lake Preschool. Teaching has always been Katie’s lifelong dream, and she is grateful to be living that dream each day at SLP. She is passionate about encouraging, supporting, and inspiring her students as they grow.
Mrs Megan Robinette
Three Year Old Lead / Four Year Old Aid / Lunch Club Aid
Megan Robinette earned her degree in Civil Engineering from Ohio University and has experience working in a variety of fields. She lives in Stow with her husband of 16 years and their three wonderful daughters, all of whom attended The Church in Silver Lake Preschool. In her free time, she loves traveling whenever she can, creating special memories with her family, and embracing all the joy this precious life has to offer.
